Our Services
NCCP strives to strengthen communities through schools. Using the community school model, NCCP provides care to the entire North Chicago community. NCCP focuses the investment of resources into three primary areas:
Student Care
At NCCP, we know that every child has the capacity to thrive. But students cannot thrive, academically or otherwise, without having their needs holistically met. We provide the equitable support and opportunities needed to make academic thriving a reality in North Chicago. These initiatives align with classroom instruction, support student academic achievement, engage families, and help students develop important life skills.
Extended Learning Opportunities
Lunchtime Learning: create a supportive lunchtime environment and provides academic and social and emotional learning (SEL) support
After School Enrichment: provide cold supper, homework support, academic reinforcement, and engaging enrichment activities
Saturday Enrichment: provide lunch, enrichment/athletic activities, and optional academic support on Saturdays

Family Care
One of the most important partnerships that NCCP builds to help students thrive at school is a trusting, empowering connection to their parents and guardians. Family engagement is essential for a child’s grades, attendance, homework completion, and social behaviors. Many families face barriers to engage in their children’s learning, such as work schedule, native language, or lack of comfort within schools. We build long-term relationships with families that make them feel welcome in their child’s education.
Family Care Closet
NCCP runs a school-based food pantry that offers non-perishable food items, hygiene and household products, and school supplies. Families get a chance to shop for the items they need
The Family Care Closet is currently open every Thursday from 9:00am-11:00am and 1:30pm-3:30pm
Family Events
NCCP facilitates events that allow families to engage in their child’s education and explore learning in creative ways such as Family Reading Nights, Wellness Carnivals, Family STEM Nights, Holiday Festivals, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and Data Discussions
COVID-19 Response
NCCP redefined whole family supports by leading outreach, scheduling, and hospitality for a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic funded by AbbVie that served 6,000 neighbors
School (Teacher + Staff) Care
School climate, attitude, and collective morale influence the quality of instruction and, therefore, student outcomes. School climate and overall culture also affect teacher retention, recruitment, and parent engagement. NCCP recognizes the necessity of teacher support and appreciation in order to attract and retain the best and brightest educators. We work alongside the district to foster positive, supportive, and strong school climates and cultures.
School Renovations
Procure funding and volunteers to revamp libraries, classrooms, gyms, and more, including adding essential amenities such as updated heating and cooling
Staff Appreciation Lunch
Serve approximately 2,500 lunches to teachers and staff each year to express gratitude for their work and partnership, and promote fellowship and collaboration
NCCP CARES
NCCP’s CARES responds to unique conditions and circumstances facing students, families, school staff, and community. Teachers can submit requests and referrals for student, classroom, and project needs through the link above.
Strategic Partnership
Act as a thought partner to district and school leadership, including co-designing a three-year-strategic plan for advancing student achievement
