Partnership with Community School District 187
“NCCP provides kids with experiences that can lead them to post-secondary success… Their programs provide critical support for kids – whether we’re talking about the lunchtime Quiet Zone, after school programming, Saturday enrichment and more.” – Val Pientka, Teacher, North Chicago Community School District 187
Beginning in the fall of 2013, the leadership of North Chicago Community Partners (NCCP) was invited to fill a gap in the school district’s operational capacity and participate in conversations relating to the reorganization of the North Chicago school district. With time, NCCP naturally evolved into a strategic thought partner and sounding board to the district and the request was made to formalize this positive working relationship. As a result, NCCP made the commitment to increase collaboration with the district in the areas of solicitation, coordination, and stewardship of strategic partners, along with providing ongoing strategic planning and operational support. The district has since experienced greater organizational efficiency and effectiveness, expanded strategic partnerships, and additional financial support. Two areas in which NCCP’s expertise, relationships, and manpower significantly impact the district are family engagement and facilities transformation.
