Beginning in the fall of 2013, the leadership of North Chicago Community Partners (NCCP) was invited to fill a gap in the school district’s operational capacity and participate in conversations relating to the reorganization of the North Chicago school district. With time, NCCP naturally evolved into a strategic thought partner and sounding board to the district and the request was made to formalize this positive working relationship. As a result, NCCP made the commitment to increase collaboration with the district in the areas of solicitation, coordination and stewardship of strategic partners and provision of ongoing strategic planning and operational support. The district has since experienced greater organizational efficiency and effectiveness, expanded strategic partnerships, and additional financial support. Two areas in which NCCP’s expertise, relationships and manpower significantly impacted the district are family engagement and facilities transformation.
